Угловой шестиэтажный дом с башней появился на Никитской площади в 1949 г.

Это было время масштабного послевоенного строительства. Москва нуждалась в новом жилье. Здание строилось с учетом новых технологий.

В это время Тверской бульвар также был подвергнут реконструкции. После войны на аллеях высаживали новые деревья, разбивали клумбы, появилась новая чугунная ограда по проекту архитектора Г.И. Луцкого.

Угловое здание было построено по проекту архитекторов К.Д. Кисловой и Н.Н. Селиванова для военнослужащих и их семей. До войны здесь стоял двухэтажный дом, известный с начала XIX в. Он принадлежал купцу Миклашевскому.

Новый многоквартирный дом стал самым высоким зданием на площади Никитских ворот. Интересно, что фасады здания, выходящие на Малую Никитскую и на бульвар неравнозначны. Длинный фасад, уходящий на улицу, не имеет декоративного убранства, в отличие от него узкий бульварный фасад выполнен в неоклассическом стиле, окна утоплены, их отделяют пилястры, этот фасад более глубокий, более насыщенный. Нижний этаж отделан рустом.

Башня прекрасно смотрится в перспективе Никитского бульвара.

В советское время на первом этаже дома располагался знаменитый магазин «Ткани».

Before the war, there was a two-story house, known since the beginning of the XIX century. He belonged to a merchant Miklashevsky. New apartment building became the tallest building at Nikitsky Gate square. Interestingly enough, the facades of the building, facing Malaya Nikitskaya are not equivalent to those facing the Boulevard. The long facade, running along the street, has no decoration, in contrast, the narrow boulevard façade in neo-classical style, the windows are recessed, they are separated pilasters, this facade of a deeper, more saturated. The lower floor is finished with rustication. The tower looks great in the perspective of Nikitsky Boulevard. The famous store "Cloth" was on the first floor of the building during the Soviet times for many years.
