Интересно решение нижнего этажа центральной части четырьмя застеклёнными эркерами. Крылья здания слегка развёрнуты по отношению к центральному девятиэтажному объему, что повторяет изгиб улицы.
Кстати, сам архитектор - Кирилл Николаевич Афанасьев - жил в построенном им доме с 1938 года до самой смерти в 2002 году. В советские годы по проектам Афанасьева в Москве был возведён ряд павильонов на ВСХВ, в частности Павильон № 31 «Геология» - бывший павильон «Лен и другие прядильные культуры». После войны архитектор занимался реконструкцией центров городов: Сталинграда, Костромы, Луганска, столицы Болгарии Софии.
