Эрмитаж, расположенный в юго-западной части кусковского парка, был построен в 1765–1767 годах по проекту Карла Ивановича Бланка. Этот павильон, как и другие подобные строения, предназначался для уединённых приёмов гостей и развлечений в тесном кругу. Необычное устройство эрмитажа позволяло гостям уединяться на втором этаже без прислуги. Архитектурный облик здания сочетает в себе элементы классицизма и барокко. Плавные, округлые формы фасадов гармонично соседствуют со строгими пилястрами коринфского ордера. В специальных нишах под карнизом были установлены алебастровые бюсты римских цезарей, что добавляло постройке величественности и декоративности. Внутреннее убранство павильона отличалось богатством: стены украшались резьбой, стенные панели и зеркала создавали эффект простора и изящества.

Однако с течением времени здание эрмитажа начало терять своё былое великолепие. В XIX и XX веках были утрачены многие элементы интерьера, включая декоративную резьбу, стенные панели и зеркала. Сохранились лишь наборный паркет в круглых кабинетах и фрагменты плафонной росписи второго этажа.

On the smooth, rounded forms facades imposed strict, precise order system classicism, in which, however, are present and Baroque features, such as located in special niches under the eaves of alabaster busts of Roman emperors.

With the passage of time and events of history was almost entirely lost its interior decoration, carving items, wall panels and mirrors. Before survived a parquet floor in the round 'offices, as well as fragments of the plafond painting of the second floor of a building in the style of "baroque".

Museum together with the best experts in the field of restoration did a great job of creating a restoration project of the Hermitage, which brought to life.

In late 2013, the Hermitage Pavilion officially opened to the public. Museum staff are confident that he will be one of the most popular pavilions for guests of the estate, in the restored rooms will regularly organizes exhibitions.

Restoration of the Hermitage made possible by the Department of Culture of Moscow and the efforts of specialists of the Central Scientific Restoration Design Workshops (chief architect of the project TP Nikitin.). At the competition "Moscow restoration - 2013", organized by the Department of Cultural Heritage of Moscow, the Hermitage Pavilion was the winner in the nomination "For high quality repair and restoration work."
