Urusovo homestead main house

К 1825 году нынешний дом был перестроен из двухэтажного дома, который числился еще в 1822 г. «обгорелым каменным строением» и принадлежал генерал-майору В.А. Урусову.

В строительстве использованы характерные для того времени формы: каменное двухэтажное здание с подвалом, первый этаж рустован, главный фасад выделен четырехпилястровым тосканским портиком.

В начале XX в. владельцы особняка менялись достаточно часто. Среди них можно вспомнить купеческие семьи Смирновых и Смысловых. В 1900-х гг. в этом доме недолго жил физик и педагог А.И. Бачинский, который вывел закон вязкости жидкостей.

Литератор-краевед Н.П. Анциферов в 1920-е гг. писал про дом №9 и его соседей: «Дома под номерами от 7 до 13 создают комплекс, который позволяет и в наши дни разглядеть облик Старой Конюшенной слободы, какой она была более ста лет назад... Богатая лепка с античными мотивами стиля ампир, чугунные решетки, фронтоны с гербами...». Из всех этих сооружений остались только дома №7 и №9.

The present house was rebuilt by 1825 from a two-storey old house, which was listed as early as 1822 as "scorched stone structure" and belonged to Major General V.A. Urusov. Characteristic shape of the time used in the construction of the house: a two-storey building with a basement and rusticated ground floor. The main facade was highlighted by four-pilaster Tuscan portico. Owners of the mansion changed often at the beginning of XX century. Among them we can remember Smirnov’s and Smyslov’s merchant families. Physicist and educator A.I. Bachinsky lived in this house for a short period of time. He was an author of liquids viscosity law. “Houses numbered 7 to 13 create a complex that allows seeing the face of the Old Stables settlement, as it was a hundred years ago in our day... Rich modeling with antique motifs in Empire style cast iron grate pediments with the arms... " wrote writer-ethnographer N.P. Antsiferov about the house number 9 and its neighbors in 1920. Only house number 7 and number 9 survived of all these structures. Typical faceless concrete house took the rest of the place of old houses. This allows us to appreciate the reminding architectural pieces and make them even more valuable.
