Preobrazhensky hospital

Здание противотуберкулезного диспансера № 8 по адресу Преображенский вал, 19 прекрасно приспособлено для медицинских нужд. Просторные коридоры и палаты, высокие потолки, большие окна, кафельный пол, позволяющий соблюдать все санитарно-гигиенические требования, сразу говорят о том, что здание всегда имело медицинское назначение.

Это двухэтажное краснокирпичное здание было построено в 1914 г. по проекту архитектора Л. Кекушева для больницы Преображенской богадельни, принадлежащей старообрядцам-федосеевцам Поморского согласия. Есть версия, что деньги на строительство давали суконщики Носовы — основные жертвователи общины и постоянные заказчики Л. Кекушева.

Больница, как и все здания, спроектированные Кекушевым, была прекрасно вписана в городскую среду. В этом месте улица делала небольшой изгиб, и со стороны Никольского монастыря и Измайлова открывался прекрасный вид на главный фасад больницы, имевший выразительную рельефную структуру.

В первоначальном варианте проекта средняя часть здания была увенчана изящным куполом, а по крыше шла ажурная решетка. От купола и решетки архитектор впоследствии отказался.

В своем проекте Кекушев продумал все детали внешнего и внутреннего убранства больницы. Несмотря на явную технологичность, здание привлекает взгляды пластичностью форм и линий, а темный неоштукатуренный красный кирпич делает его таинственным. Верхняя часть окон разбита на маленькие квадратики, что позволяет создать дополнительную фасадную горизонталь. Кованые ограждения маршей внутренней лестницы эффектно вписаны в композицию внутренних интерьеров здания, продуман рисунок кафельного пола, расстекловка внутренних дверей.

Здание Преображенской больницы, безусловно, является одним из лучших поздних произведений великого архитектора и нуждается в бережном хранении.

The building of the tuberculosis dispensary No. 8 at Preobrazhensky Val, 19 is perfectly adapted for medical needs. Spacious corridors and chambers, high ceilings, large windows, tiled floor, allowing to comply with all sanitary and hygienic requirements, immediately indicate that the building has always had a medical purpose. This two-story red brick building was built in 1914 according to the project of architect L. Kekushev for the hospital of the Transfiguration almshouse belonging to the Old Believers Fedoseevites of the Pomor Consensus. There is a version that the money for construction was given by the Nosovs, the main donors of the community and the regular customers of L. Kekushev. The hospital, like all the buildings designed by Kekushev, was perfectly refined into the urban environment. At this point the street was making a slight curve, and from the side of the St. Nicholas monastery and Izmailovo an unobstructed view of the main facade of the hospital was opening - the façade had an expressive relief structure. In the original version of the project the middle part of the building was topped with a graceful dome and the roof had an openwork lattice. The architect subsequently refused the dome and the lattice. Kekushev in his project thought out all the details of the external and internal decoration of the hospital. Despite the apparent producibility, the building draws the eye by the plasticity of the forms and lines, and the dark unplastered red brick makes it mysterious. The upper part of the window is divided into small squares, which allows to create additional horizontal of the façade. Wrought iron fencing of the flight of steps of the internal stairs is effectively refined into the composition of the interiors of the building, the pattern of tiled floors is properly thought over as well as the divided glazing of the internal doors. The building of the Preobrazhensky hospital is, of course, one of the best latest creations of the great architect and requires a careful preservation.
