Paveletskaya subway station

Наземный павильон «Павелецкой» расположен в цоколе и первых двух этажах жилого дома на углу Зацепского вала и Новокузнецкой улицы. Вход представляет собой просторную лоджию с монументальной аркадой. Внутри павильон разделен на дуговой кассовый зал и эскалаторный вестибюль. Сферичный свод эскалаторного зала опирается на барабан с мозаичным фризом. Купол украшен декоративными лепными розетками со звездами, в центре расположено фальшивое окно. Над аркой эскалатора находится мозаичное панно «Красная площадь» с изображением мавзолея, Спасской башни, Покровского собора (без крестов), помещенная в красивую литую бронзовую раму.

Станция пилонная, глубокого заложения. Тяжелые кубические пилоны поддерживают белый свод с причудливыми десятирожковыми люстрами. Сами пилоны декорированы резными беломраморными решетками и трехчетвертными коринфскими колоннами на углах, высеченными из цельных блоков коелгинского мрамора. А на гладкой поверхности выложены красным по белому орнаменты, характерные для вышивки народов Поволжья. «Павелецкая» символизирует Волгу и волжские края –хлебные житницы России. Этой теме подчинено декоративное убранство. Пол оформлен черным габбро с геометрическим узором темно-серого жежелевского гранита. Стены покрыты плитами мрамора различных расцветок. Это достаточно строгая и простая в архитектурном оформлении станция.

На тупиковой стене размещена мозаика «Рабочий и колхозницы» художника П.Д. Корина. Ранее на месте этого панно находился медальон с изображением Ленина и Сталина скульптора М.Г. Манизера.
