Artstory GalleryThe Artstory Gallery of Contemporary Art is a large art venue in the center of Moscow. The gallery was opened on October 15, 2014. Unusual exhibition projects that open every one and a half to two months include new works by artists, as well as works from the gallery collection, major museum and private collections. For the founders of the gallery - Lucine Petrosyan and Mikhail Openheim - both the role of history in the works of the authors and the role of artists in creating the history itself are important. And here they tell a variety of "stories". In the gallery you can see the works of Russian and foreign authors working in various directions, techniques and genres, artists of different eras and destinies. The gallery holds both large group exhibitions of contemporary art and personal exhibitions of artists. A rich exhibition program is accompanied by educational activities: lectures, master classes and classes for children, creative meetings, cinematography. The gallery includes four exhibition halls and an art residence. The Artstory collection contains works by various authors, including such as: Mikhail Shvartsman, Nikolay Sitnikov, Anatoly Zverev, Leonid Purygin, Oscar Rabin, Oleg Tselkov, Moses Feigin, Natalia Nesterova, as well as works by many other artists, reflecting a definite and unique facet of such a complex phenomena like the “Russian avant-garde”. The Artstory collection is an example of how from sometimes diametrically opposed in style and direction of works you can form the basis for a lively, relevant, energetic collection that can develop to the status of a museum collection.
