M. N. Yermolova House - MuseumIn the heart of Tverskoy Boulevard, there is a neat mansion, one of the witnesses of old Moscow. It harmoniously fits into the dynamic life of a big city and at the same time keeps an indescribable flavor of history. At the entrance to the House Museum, it seems as if time has stopped for a moment: you walk through en suite rooms, the guide tells a fascinating story about the Great Russian actress Maria Nikolaevna Yermolova and her true “life in art”. The museum surprisingly combines the features of classicism of the end of the XVIII century and the modern style of the turn of the XIX – XX centuries. Traditions have always been carefully kept. After purchasing the house, MN Yermolova and her spouse, well-known lawyer N.P. Shubinsky, did not change the furnishing or the color of the walls. And to this day - in the spirit of the fashion of the XVIII century - multi-colored rooms are preserved: the yellow and green living rooms, and the brilliant white hall, where the artist V. A. Serov wrote the famous Ermolovsky portrait. M.N. Yermolova House-Museum is theatrical place. Here are kept the old posters of performances, theatrical props, costumes and original costumes. In one of them Yermolova played her legendary Joan of Arc, and in the other she read N.A. Nekrasov’s fiery poems in front of an enthusiastic student audience.

Moscow museum of modern artMMOMA is the first museum of modern art specializing in art of XX and XXI centuries in Russia. The museum was opened in 1999 and its collection consists of more than 12 000 works of art: paintings, photos, sculptures, installations and etc, among which are rare works of Kazemir Malevich, Marc Chagal, Vasily Kandinsky, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Salvador Dali and etc. MMOMA spend more than 60 exhibitions every year: from debuts of young artists to retrospective of masters with world name. The museum is located on 5 sites in the heart of the capital – the historical centre of Moscow. The MMOMA has the School of modern art “Free studio”, the MMOMAkids - children’s educational centre, Leceum, expert laboratory on the research of works of art, a restoration studio and book shop ARTBOOKSHOP in which magazine of museum "The Dialog of art" is presented. Besides, there is a Mart café in the museum building on Petrovka 25 which has united in itself several project. Since 2011, there is a voluntary movement in the museum thanks to which anyone can, on for a while, become a part of MMOMA. A.N. Tolstoy Museum-ApartmentThe memorial museum-apartment of A.N. Tolstoy was opened on October 20, 1987. The oldest employees of the GLM, E. E. Miropolskaya and E. D. Mikhailova, took part in the creation of the exposition. The building, which houses the memorial museum-apartment of A. Tolstoy, is included in the complex of the Ryabushinskys' manor, built by the architect O. F. Shekhtel in 1901-1903. According to the design of the architect, the wing, the closing courtyard, was intended for household needs. On the first floor there was a laundry room and a janitor’s, on the second - rooms for the Ryabushinsky servants. In the years when Gorky lived in the mansion, the editorial offices of the journals “On the Construction Sites of the USSR”, “Our Achievements” and the publishing house “History of Factories and Plants” were located in the wing. From August 1941 to the last days of his life the writer Alexey Nikolaevich Tolstoy and his wife Lyudmila Ilyinichna Tolstaya lived in this house. The exposition of the museum-apartment was created on the basis of the memorial collection of A. N. Tolstoy, transferred to the State Literary Museum after the death of the writer's widow L. Tolstoy. The collection of A. N. Tolstoy is one of the most valuable in the collection of the State Literary Museum. A part of this collection is presented in the exposition, a part is in the GLM funds and is the basis for numerous exhibition projects. The collection includes a collection of Russian and Western European painting of the 16th-20th centuries, objects of decorative and applied arts (porcelain, bone, metal, lighting equipment, etc.), furniture made by Russian and Western European masters. A significant part of the collection is the library of the writer, which includes the rarest editions of the time of Peter the Great, books from the Masonic library of the writer's ancestors - Turgenevs, rare lifetime foreign editions of the writer.
