State Museum-Reserve Tsaritsyno

The pearl of the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve is the largest pseudo-gothic palace of the 18th century in Europe by architects V. Bazhenov and M. Kazakov. It is surrounded by a unique park complex. Cultural and leisure activities are constantly held in the reserve. To make a museum on the vast territory of the Tsaritsyn conceived in the 60s of XX century. An important task was the restoration of the gradually collapsing buildings of the authorship of the most famous architects of their time V. Bazhenov and M. Kazakov. The concept of the museum as an integral ensemble and a multi-profile historical and cultural complex appeared in the years of restructuring. By 2001, the restoration work of almost all the buildings of V. Bazhenov was completed, and by 2007 the Bread House and the Grand Palace were restored. They housed the main part of the museum collections. The exhibition "Tsaritsyn antiquities" introduces numerous archaeological finds. A special section is devoted to the history of the Tsaritsyno architectural ensemble. The Bread House has a collection of folk and decorative art of Slavic peoples, as well as professional arts and crafts of the 20th century. There are tours of greenhouses. The cascade of three ponds is one of the most poetic corners of the Tsaritsyn Park. A light-dynamic fountain with music was built on the Middle Tsaritsyn pond.

Gallery «Zagorie»The State Exhibition Hall-Museum "Zagorie" was founded in 1997 and stores about 400 paintings in its funds. The museum's collection is based on paintings by front-line artists Ilya Lukomsky and Boris Rozhdestvensky. Collective and personal exhibitions of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, decorative and applied art acquaint visitors with the works of Moscow and regional artists, both professional and amateur, beginners and become masters of the authors of modern art. Today, life with its current events, disputes and new practices breaks into the museum space. The exhibition hall - the Zagorie Gallery is currently part of the Exhibition Halls of Moscow Association and is a platform for updating classical art and a place for meetings and communication of local district communities - a convenient and accessible "the third place". “The third place” is a space that can be used for work or leisure, but is not a home or office. The friendliness of people around and the mandatory location within walking distance for visitors are the main features and advantages of such spaces. Here you can set up a business meeting and see friends, or you can just work intently, without being distracted by outsiders and at the same time not feeling lonely, divorced from society. According to the curators, the “third place” located in the museum space will have a special atmosphere, plunging into which visitors want to return to meet with friends, partners and, of course, art.
