The Museum of entrepreneurs, patrons of art and philanthropists

The Museum of entrepreneurs, patrons of art and philanthropists is the only publicly accessible research, educational and educational museum center in Russia, dedicated to the history of entrepreneurship, patronage and philanthropy. The museum was created in 1992 in Moscow with the active participation of the descendants of entrepreneurs of pre-revolutionary Russia. The museum is located in a 19th century building that belonged to the merchant Prostyakov, a well-known Moscow entrepreneur and gentleman of five Russian orders for charitable activities, who opened an elementary school in this house. The Museum holds over 2.5 thousand genuine exhibits: documents, photographs, personal belongings and awards of people who played a significant role in the history of Russian entrepreneurship and charity - Russian bankers, industrialists, merchants, intellectuals who laid the foundations of Russian culture, science, education, financial system, industry, health and social support. The museum also has a significant research and support fund (about 2,500 units), including copies of materials, the originals of which are kept in the families of the descendants of merchant families and in private collections. The library thematic fund currently counts over 3,000 units and is available to museum visitors for free. The main exhibition of the museum includes 4 rooms: - Entrepreneurs, patrons of art and philanthropists of the XIX – XX centuries. - Equity, financial and stock markets of Russia. - Hall of Life. - Upbringing and education of children. The museum regularly hosts sightseeing and thematic excursions, walking tours in Moscow, business and cultural events for adult audiences, educational and interactive for children. The museum has an educational center. The mission of the museum is to preserve the traditions of pre-revolutionary Russian entrepreneurs, patrons of art and philanthropists and inspire the development of a culture of creative entrepreneurship.

Информация о музее

Музей предпринимателей, меценатов и благотворителей создан в 1991 году при активном участии потомков предпринимателей дореволюционной России: Морозовых, Рябушинских, Алексеевых, Губониных, Прохоровых, Гучковых, Рукавишниковых, Сытиных и других основателей российского капитализма. Основным организатором Музея  является хранитель Музея Лев Николаевич Краснопевцев.

В настоящее время Музей - негосударственный исследовательский, учебный и просветительский центр для предпринимателей, школьников, студентов и широких слоев населения по истории предпринимательства, меценатства и благотворительности. Музей рассказывает о мировоззрении, образе жизни, качествах, стратегиях дореволюционных предпринимателей, их огромном вкладе в развитие России.

В фондах Музея хранится более 2500 подлинных экспонатов: фотографий, портретов, документов, личных вещей, являющихся памятниками деятельности создателей российской промышленности, торговли, финансовой системы. Музей располагает значительным научно-вспомогательным фондом (около 2500 тыс. ед.), включающим копии материалов, подлинники которых хранятся в семьях потомков купеческих семей и в частных коллекциях.
В Музее формируется библиотечный тематический фонд. В настоящее время он насчитает более 3000 единиц и является доступным для посетителей Музея. 

Музей расположен в старой части Москвы на Донской улице в здании XIX века, принадлежащем известному московскому предпринимателю и благотворителю Ивану Григорьевичу Простякову. 

Музей приглашает своих посетителей на обзорные и тематические экскурсии, лекции и семинары, пешеходные экскурсии.  Совместно с благотворительными организациями здесь проводятся концерты и ярмарки с целью сбора средств в помощь нуждающимся.
