Дом № 17 по Пятницкой улице был построен по заказу купца, владельца гастрономических и винных магазинов, члена Попечительской школы «Торговлеведение» Аникиты (Никиты) Николаевича Громова по проекту архитектора Семёна Федосеевича Суворова. Пожалуй, доходный дом на Пятницкой – это единственная постройка, возведённая зодчим в Москве. Тем ни менее, здание получилось достаточно интересным. Облицовка фасада кремовой керамической плиткой, подчёркивающая вертикальные членения структуры здания, сочетается с оштукатуренными поверхностями стен первого этажа, фриза, оконных обрамлений. Большую роль в оформлении фасада дома играли не сохранившиеся до наших дней балконы. В советское время в доме располагались коммунальные квартиры. Жилым он является и сейчас.
